The Willis Robert Barnstone translation typescript of Lyberacki The Other Alexander is a draft of the novel The Other Alexander by Margarita Lyberski, as translated by Willis and Helle Barnstone from Greek to English. It includes the draft and a copy of the correspondence sent between Mr. Barnstone and Wesleyan librarian, Wyman Parker, upon receiving the typescript.

Biographical / Historical
The Greek version of The Other Alexander was published in France in 1953 and awarded the Prix du Meilleur Livre Etranger. The work discusses Greece and its civil war following World War II.
Margarita Liberaki was born in Athens in 1919 and is the author of several works, plays and film scripts
Willis Barnstone was born in 1927 in Maine. He would go on to be a poet and translator, spending time as a professor at Wesleyan.
