Biographical / Historical

Caroline Laura Rice Crawford (1856-1954) was the daughter of Rev. Dr. William Rice. She would attended Wesleyan during the brief period when Wesleyan allowed coeducation from 1872 to 1909. While at the university she would meet her future husband, Morris B. Crawford. After graduating in 1879, Caroline would marry Crawford in 1883 and eventually have three children. Crawford would become a professor of physics as Wesleyan.
