Staff Report on the Context for Planning and Decisions at Wesleyan - Campbell "rainbow papers", 1975
Scope and Contents
Set of four draft reports known collectively as the "Rainbow papers" developed by Colin Campbell and a group of staff related to the financial status of the university at the time. Book I covers the financial aspect and historical overview of the situation. Book II is split into Academic program, Administrative costs, Financial aid, and Faculty characteristics. Book III is "Alternatives for Wesleyan 1975-1980" and Volume IV is "A Plan for Action 1975-1980."
The first paragraph of the letter to the Wesleyan Board of Trustees from Campbell states "Since 1972, the Wesleyan Board of Trustees and the entire campus community have become increasingly aware that the University's strong financial base is being seriously eroded." This sets up the purpose of these reports.
